By accessing or using VenturePin, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
Use of the Service
When using VenturePin, you agree to:
- Comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations
- Take responsibility for all content you create, upload, or share through our service
- Use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
- Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Not use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others
- Not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from our service
- Not use automated systems to access our service without permission
User Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
- You may delete your account at any time through the account settings. Account deletion will remove your user profile and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in harmful behavior
- You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or limitations
Location Services and Safety
Important Safety Notice: VenturePin's location features are provided for convenience and informational purposes only. They should not be relied upon as your primary navigation tool in potentially dangerous situations.
- Always exercise caution when navigating and obey all local laws, regulations, and signage
- Do not use the service while driving, cycling, or engaging in activities that require your full attention
- Be aware of your surroundings and use common sense when following routes or directions
- Weather conditions and terrain may affect route safety - use your judgment
- We are not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or damages that may occur while using our service
Content and Licenses
- You retain rights to your content. You grant VenturePin a limited license to host and display your content solely to operate the service.
- Map and weather data are provided by third parties and subject to their terms and attribution requirements.
Third‑Party Services
We integrate third‑party providers to deliver mapping, weather, authentication, and data storage features. By using VenturePin you also agree to comply with their applicable terms and attribution requirements:
- Google Maps Platform (Maps JavaScript API, Street View imagery, Firebase Authentication, Firestore). Covered by the Google Maps Platform Terms and Google Privacy Policy. You may not cache Google map tiles or remove Google branding.
- OpenWeather (forecasts, current conditions, radar and wind overlays). Subject to OpenWeather Terms and Privacy Policy. Attribution is shown when their data is active.
- U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) imagery, topo, hillshade, and hydrographic layers. Public domain but attribution is requested by USGS.
- OpenStreetMap & OpenTopoMap community tiles used for OpenStreetTopo, OpenStreetToner, and OpenStreetDark. Subject to the OpenStreetMap Tile Usage Policy and OpenTopoMap terms.
- MapTiler (forward geocoding / search). Subject to the MapTiler Terms of Service.
- Open-Elevation (optional elevation lookup). Open API that receives coordinate batches to compute elevation.
When you use features powered by these services, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to them as necessary to fulfil the request. We reserve the right to add or remove integrations and will update these Terms when material changes occur.
Subscriptions and Payments
If we later offer paid subscriptions, additional terms will apply (pricing, billing cycles, refunds, cancellation). Access to paid features may require an active subscription and may be revoked for non‑payment.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or law. You may terminate at any time by deleting your account.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VenturePin and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data or profits.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the latest version here and update the “Last updated” date.
