Desktop:

• Pan & Zoom: Click and drag to pan the map. Use scroll wheel to zoom in/out or the +/- zoom buttons in the top-left corner
• Add Points: Left mouse click and hold on any location for 500ms to add a new map point

Mobile / Touchscreen:

• Pan & Zoom: Touch and drag to pan the map. Use two finger pinch to zoom in/out or the +/- zoom buttons in the top-left corner
• Add Points: Tap and hold on any location for 500ms to add points

📍 View Map Points

• Lists all your saved map points
• Click any point to center the map on that location and show its details

📁 POI Import

Upload location data from various file formats:

• Supported Formats: CSV, KML, KMZ, GPX, XML, JPG/HEIC photos
• CSV: Must have latitude/longitude columns (supports "lat"/"latitude", "lng"/"longitude")
• KML/KMZ: Google Earth placemarks automatically converted to points
• GPX: GPS track logs - waypoints become map points
• Photos: JPG/HEIC files with GPS EXIF data create points at photo location
• Click "Upload and Import" to process files and add points to your map

Personalize your map appearance:

👤 User Account

• Login: Sign in with email/password or Google account
• Create Account: New users can create email accounts
• Logout: Sign out and clear session

Base Layers (8 Options) - Choose your preferred map style

• CARTO Dark Matter - Dark theme with high contrast
• USGS Imagery Topo - Satellite imagery with topographic overlays
• Thunderforest Landscape - Detailed landscape map
• USGS Topo - Classic topographic maps
• ESRI Topo - Esri's detailed world topographic map
• OSM Topo - OpenStreetMap topographic style
• ArcGIS Satellite - High-resolution satellite imagery
• MapTiler Satellite - Clean satellite imagery

Overlays (3 Options) - Add terrain/shading layers on top of base maps:

• USGS Hillshade - 3D hill shading from USGS data
• ESRI Terrain - Esri's terrain contour overlay
• MapTiler Hillshade - Detailed hill shading

Adding New Points

• Title (Required): Name your point (max 24 characters)
• Latitude/Longitude: Auto-filled, can be adjusted
• Description: Optional details about the location
• Icon: Choose from 11 marker styles (Circle, Star, Triangle, Square, Heart, Flag, Pin, Camera, Tree, House, Mountain)
• Color: Choose marker color from 14 options
• Photo: Optional - upload an image (compressed to ~300KB)
• Date/Time: Optional - set specific timestamp

Editing Existing Points

• Click any marker to open info popup
• Click ✎ (edit) button to modify the point
• Make changes and click Save
• Click Delete to remove the point (confirmation required)
